Network Security
Protection that fits a small and mid-size network
Most attacks on small organizations are not clever; they find an open door that nobody was watching. We design, install and manage the defenses that close those doors: a properly configured firewall, secure wireless, protected computers and a plan for when something goes wrong. No setup makes a network completely safe, but a well-managed one is a much harder target.
What we handle
- SonicWall firewalls. Selection, installation, configuration, firmware updates and rule review, including content filtering and intrusion prevention.
- Secure remote access. VPN for staff who work from home or on the road, set up so that access is limited to what each person needs.
- Wireless networks. SonicWave access points with separate, secured networks for staff, guests and devices.
- Antivirus and endpoint protection. Managed protection on servers, desktops and laptops, with alerts that are actually read.
- Segmentation. Keeping cameras, phones, guests and business systems on separate networks, so one problem cannot spread everywhere.
- Updates and hardening. Firmware and software patched, default passwords and unused services removed, and administrator access tightened.
Start with a security review
If you are not sure where you stand, we begin with a review: firewall rules and open ports, firmware age, shared or unused accounts, wireless settings, antivirus coverage and whether your backups could actually restore. You get a short written summary, ranked by risk, with what to fix first and what it will take.
Backups are part of security
Ransomware is the threat that ends small businesses, and the best protection is a backup that cannot be reached by the attacker and has been tested. We include offsite, restore-tested backups in every security plan; see Disaster Recovery.
How we work
- Assess. We review your network and give you a plain-language list of risks.
- Secure. We fix the gaps in priority order, with the plan and price agreed first.
- Support. We monitor, update and respond, and we are local if you need someone on site.
Who it is for
Offices and organizations in and around Lakeland that depend on their network and have no dedicated security staff. If you are using a firewall that has not been updated in years, or you are not sure who has access to what, this is a good place to start.
