Virtualization

Hyper-V and virtual infrastructure that consolidates servers and makes recovery simpler.

Server Virtualization

Fewer boxes, simpler recovery

Virtualization lets several servers run as virtual machines on one physical host. That means less hardware to buy, power and replace, and, just as important, a server that can be backed up and restored as a single unit. We plan, build and support virtual infrastructure for small and mid-size organizations.

What we handle

  • Hyper-V hosts and virtual machines. Sizing, installation and configuration, sized for what you actually run.
  • Consolidation. Moving older physical servers onto virtual machines, so you replace one host instead of several machines.
  • Migrations. Moving servers to new hardware or a new host with a plan to keep downtime short.
  • Backup of virtual machines. Image-level backups that are monitored and restore-tested, with an offsite copy.
  • Maintenance and monitoring. Host patching, storage and performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
  • Recovery options. Restoring a virtual machine on other hardware if the host fails.

Why it helps

A virtual machine is a file you can copy, back up and restore. When a server fails, you restore the machine, not rebuild it from scratch. See our Disaster Recovery service for how we protect it.

How we work

  1. Review. We look at your servers, hardware age and applications.
  2. Plan. You get a clear proposal for what to consolidate and what it will take.
  3. Build and support. We build it, move it over, document it and keep it maintained.
